A tough assignment with Sutton unbeaten at home, and featuring the Deres’ top two scorers last season in Chris McGinty and Arlie Desanges, who scored four in their 7-1 win at Meridian the previous week – but only a penalty save from Harry Harding in the 86th minute prevented us from taking all three points.
So we concede after 490 minutes, and the club record winning streak is equalled rather than beaten – but the club record unbeaten run now stretches to 15 games, and with the top two losing – Welling Town 4-2 at Bridon Ropes and Kennington 2-1 home to Snodland – we’re now 9 points off the lead with 5 games in hand.
