Reserves Vs Lewisham Lions

Finally our first point of the season against a very physical Lewisham Lions team. We all thought " here we go again", as 2 early goals for Lewisham saw them take an early lead, but in great character and showing a truck load of fight, a sloppy backpass gave us the chance to, at least, get a shot on target and "see what happens". The ball was slightly rolled to Emmanuel Downes, who smashed it past the 10 players on the line and it was suddenly 'game on'.  Minutes passed and manager Stuart Webb was preparing a team talk with the deres 2-1 down, when, Louis Davis picked out "Manny" Downes with an Ozil-esque pass, and Manny slotted home 2-2.

Second half was end to end and the neutral would have been glad to spend money to watch the game, despite the shocking weather.Mitch Girling pulled off a string of fine saves that kept the game at 2-2, and thats how it ended.

Finally, a big shout out to Patrick Kanu, who only last week, was back in his home country, burying his sister.

The team would like to dedicate the hard fought draw to her and the Kanu family at this very sad and trying time.

Next saturday sees us go the short journey to Eltham Town in the league.
