Saturdays away game was a hard fought, ankle shattering, bone shuddering clash between 2 teams desperate for the 3pts. Erith turned up nice and early, and for the first time this season, went out and warmed up as a squad (usually they go out in dribs and drabs).
The game tempo was set early as tackles flew in and shots were taken but nothing coming of either. The only real talking point in the half was the tackle that ended new GK Zano's debut in goal as he had to be replaced by Mitch just before the break.
0-0 at half time then.
2nd half started brightly and mutch the same way as the first ended, until Eltham broke through the back line and put the ball in the bottom corner where Mitch could only watch as the ball hit the net.
About 10 mins later, Idrisa, who had been headhunted by their managment team as the dangerman so was constsntly fouled and received a barage load of verbal abuse from their bench,( by the way, these people were drinking pitchers of beer al game so were half cut by the time the game kicked off), put the ball in the net after 2 attempts.
Unfortunatly we couldnt capitalise on this and Eltham went on to secure all 3pts with a strike about 8 mins later and held on to the win.
Another game where we play well but cant seem to finish the game off.
