FA Cup Preliminary Round Replay
AFC Croydon Athletic 2 Bloomfield 44, Lika 85
Erith and Belvedere 3 Neary 2, D Allassani 32, Dasofunjo 41
After a sometimes fractious initial game had ended goalless, the Deres made the trip to the Mayfield Stadium on a Tuesday night expecting an even harder time than AFC Croydon had given them two days earlier.
Yet in the second minute of the game the Deres took the lead, and the scorer was a player enjoying his first minutes on the pitch this season. Matt Neary thoroughly enjoyed and deserved his first Deres goal.
By the 41st minute it was 3-0 and the Deres looked totally in control, with Drew Allassani and Henry Dasofunjo adding further goals, but just before half-time
a goal from Alfie Bloomfield gave the Rams a glimmer of hope.
The second half was one-way traffic as Deres defended their lead whilst the Rams piled on the pressure in an attempt to get back all square. With a little over 5 minutes to go Emiliano Lika forced the ball home and it looked like game on. But Erith held on and left with the win and a place in the first qualifying round.
DERES: Rob O’Hara; Kazzeem Richards, Max Pell, Drew Allassani, Rob Curtis, Reece Barrett, Henry Dasofunjo (Tyler Anderson-Parr 88), Louis Sprosen (Danny Patterson 80), Matt Neary, Keanan Allassani, Vinnie Medhurst (Malakai Hyman 75).
Attendance 112.
