Bearsted 1 Stace 48
Erith and Belvedere 2 Richardson-Brown 8, Wilson 69
The Deres have beaten The Bears in a tight affair in the woods.
Tyrell Richardson-Brown opened the scoring on eight minutes with a classy finish into the top corner after Ben Wilson's low driven cross. The first half was close fought with neither side gaining the upper hand.
The second half started poorly for E&B, conceding their first goal of the league season on 49 minutes when Stace hit a well-placed driven shot from outside the area past goalkeeper Molloy. The Deres had scored 18 goals since the last one they conceded, surely a club record.
On the hour a wayward shot by the home team disappeared into the trees behind the goal, illustrating that Bears do shoot into the woods…
Deres made two effective substitutions, with Rory Ward coming on for Tyrell Richardson-Brown on 65 minutes and heading just over the bar after a few seconds. Four minutes later Danny Lear, who’d returned to Deres action in the 55th minute for Malachi Hudson, was fouled outside the area and Ben Wilson stepped up and placed the free-kick to the goalkeeper’s right, eventually bouncing over him and into the net after a half save. The Deres dug deep, tightened up by replacing Tunde Aderonmu with George Monger, and managed the last quarter of the match expertly, gaining the upper hand in midfield, to give them their 4th straight league win and the only remaining 100% record in the division.
DERES: Adam Molloy; Fraser Walker, Ben Wilson, Jerome Wade, Ryan Huckle, Ryan Johnson, Tyrell Richardson-Brown (Rory Ward 65), Bradley Ryan, Tunde Aderonmu (George Monger 76), Nathan Palmer, Malachi Hudson (Danny Lear 55). Subs: Reece Barrett, Henry Arnold.
