DEL DEPARTS

Posted by Brian Spurrell on 28 May 2021

The Board of Directors can confirm that Del Oldfield has stepped down from the First Team Manager role due to personal reasons. We would like to thank Del for his hard work, support and efforts in the last year. He will always be welcome back at the club.

Del was appointed at the beginning of March 2020 and due to the pandemic has led the club during two uncompleted seasons. His record in league games as Deres manager reads: P13 W2 D4 L7 F20 A35. Plus 4 wins in 6 cup ties. He took charge of just 19 games in 15 months as manager, but his value was so much more than that, bringing us stability when most needed and beginning the much-needed rebuilding.

Del said: "My decision to step down as manager of Erith & Belvedere is purely for personal reasons. "On this occasion, I have put myself and my family first for once. Thank you to the board for believing in me and thank you to the players and staff that have been part of a stuttering but enjoyable journey. In some, if not most of those players, I have formed personal friendships for life and I'll always be eternally grateful for that.

"To everyone that has phoned or contacted me, your support means a lot, it really does and I'll see you all soon. I'm sad to be leaving but at the same time, I'm completely happy and comfortable with my decision to do so."
