Pitch Inspection

Today's home fixture v Chatham Town has been postponed owing to a waterlogged pitch. So instead of having the last match before Christmas, it's time to wish you all a very happy festive season and all the best for the New Year.
Meanwhile we've had a couple of fixtures rescheduled following earlier postponements. We host Corinthian on Tuesday 21 January and Welling Town on Tuesday 18 February. Due to quirks of the fixture list and earlier postponements, we've played fewer home games and more away games than any other club in our league, so we have 13 home games to come and only 7 away. That might suggest that we're in a false position lying 18th in the league at present, but only time will tell.
While I'm here, let's welcome a clutch of new signings to the Deres: goalkeeper Charlie Payne joins us from Fisher, defender Best Toke joins us from Sheppey United U23, and centre-half Dominic Vincent-Edwards is on dual registration with VCD Athletic. Welcome to them all, and best wishes for success with the Deres.
