Statto's Delight

This season is becoming a statto's delight for the Deres.
Harry Harding is leading the way, just as he's leading the scoring charts in the SCEFL second division. After his hat-trick in the 6-0 beating ofd Lydd Town on Saturday (26 January) his stats are ridiculous: 32 goals in 27 appearances, 10 in the last 4 games, 4 hat-tricks in the last 10 games, and the second-earliest date in a season on which a Deres player has reached 30 goals.
(He's behind Alfie May who reached that landmark on 6 January 2015, albeit from the same number of appearances. But we shouldn't forget Deres' record goalscorer Colin Johnson, who in 1962-63 scored his 29th goal on Boxing Day, only for the worst winter of the 20th century to intervene and delay our next game and his next goal until 23 February!)
But the most relevant statistic involving the numbers 4 and 10 is that the Lydd result took us up to 4th place, 10 points behind leaders Welling Town, which makes this Saturday's visit to Welling absolutely crucial. I'd happily accept Harry not scoring again for the rest of the season if it meant Deres securing promotion, and no doubt so would he...
