Here’s how the run-in looks after last Wednesday’s crunch game in which Phoenix Sports beat Erith Town 2-1. Phoenix are now within 4 points of us and it’s at least a two-horse race, with Erith Town 9 behind and Deal Town 7 behind from a game more.
Deal might look in the worst position of the four contenders, but they play all the other three and can still have a big say in the title race. If they can beat Phoenix today it’ll be a big favour for us, but they also visit PVR in the final midweek match of the season. Who knows what the position will be by then, but Deal might still have the Kent Senior Trophy Final against Punjab in their legs…
We and Phoenix both have more away games than home games, but given our misfortunes at home lately, that might be no bad thing!
