The Deres open the long-awaited 2020-21 campaign with an FA Cup extra preliminary round tie at Kennington next Tuesday night, 1 September (that’s Kennington near Ashford by the way, not Kennington as in the Oval). The home side are playing their first ever FA Cup tie, and keenly anticipating it – BUT due to Covid-19 the attendance will be restricted, leading to the tie being made all-ticket. And they’ve sold nearly three quarters of the capacity within a day of putting them on sale.
So if you want to get to the game, please either send a DM to @EBTheDeres on Twitter or contact club secretary Brian Spurrell on 07890 927261 or brian.spurrell@yahoo.com , as soon as possible with your details. Tickets are £6 adults and £4 concessions, payable later. Note that when you’re there, supporters must wear masks when entering the ground as far as their final location and at all times when moving around.
Meanwhile the Deres have completed their pre-season programme: we drew 3-3 at Phoenix, lost 5-0 to a talented Charlton U-23 side, lost 1-0 at Stansfeld and won 3-1 at Greenways. All set for the season to start next week…
